CynsCorner: Greetings to all you marble collectors. I have a variable collection of mint to near mint antique hand-made and early machine-made marbles For Sale. All have definate Pontils. Being that I am new to this marble collecting, I am still learning how to distinguish the collection that I have inherited, 176 marbles.
I am hoping that some of you will help me identify some that I question. For example I have a very large, Cobalt Blue, I believe it to be a Transitional, but not too sure, that is 4.5 inches in diameter, with either a creased or folded pontil. I will be happy to show pics per individual request. email cynscorner(at)gmail.com. Also, have Clearies with Mica and some unknown Clearies that thus far, have been unidentifiable. These were found buried in the dirt underneath a house that belonged to relative that was over 150 years old. All these marbles were nicely kept in a can for many many years when dug up by a dozer. The house was demolished what was left of it. Needless to say, thesse marbles were well preserved and most are in Mint to Near-Mint Condition. I am hoping that someone can help me identify these marbles being that I am a "Green-Horn" and all is new to me. I'm learning from the best and that is you all! I am very glad to be a part of your organization. Thank you for having me.
